The Hobbit, the movie adaptation of the story of Bilbo Baggins, begins filming in New Zealand. Warner Bros has announced this good news, as reported by entertainment sites, March 21, 2011.

The Hobbit, a J.R.R Tolkien’s book has been widely read by fans, young and old alike, and is a significant prequel to the Lord of the Rings (LOTR) series of books.

The story of Bilbo Baggins played by Martin Freeman will be a fascinating story of “Middle Earth” that moviegoers as well as readers, would enjoy.

Gandalf the Grey played by Ian McKellen is also a vital character of the Hobbit world.

The target dates for release of the two prequels are in 2012 and 2013.
