According to earlier reports, Gardner weighed 474 pounds (about 215 kilograms) when he joined the NBC TV show competition about losing weight, apparently having his weight doubled as compared during the time he beat Karelin.

On the first episode, the former wrestler was said to have lost 32 pounds and another 27 pounds over the next two weeks, while spectators believe that Rulon may weigh below 400 pounds when he comes back to the show.

Gardner has Justin Pope as his teammate in the ‘The Biggest Loser’ Season 11, who runs a gym in Utah with him.
