Ted Williams, Homeless Man With Golden Radio Voice Becomes Popular

Ted Williams is a homeless man with a “God-given gift” of a golden voice. He solicits money by the side of Interstate 71 in Columbus, Ohio with a sign that says:

I have a God-given gift of voice. I’m an ex-radio announcer who has fallen on hard times. Please! Any help will be greatfully appreciated. Thank you and God bless you! Happy Holidays.

He got the attention of a reporter for the Columbus Dispatch who interviewed him and posted the video on Youtube on Tuesday.

On the video, Williams demonstrated his “golden radio voice.” He said that he had been into alcohol and drugs and he is trying to get back. He is hoping that somebody from television or radio stations will give him a job.

The Youtube video hits the front page of Reddit.com and became viral. At the time of this writing, the video has been viewed 368,000+ times and the Reddit post with 3400+ upvotes.

Lots of people offered Williams some help thru Reddit.com. Reddit user Ladyfingers offered to buy him a phone. Reddit user gesspacho offered his studio in Columbus for Williams to make recordings. Almost a dozen of Reddit users offered him jobs.

Williams is scheduled to be on the The Morning Zoo at 7:15am EST on January 5 in Dave and Jimmy Radio Show. According to Youtube user ritchey who uploaded the video, Williams might receive a formal offer from the radio station.

His story has already been covered by numerous online news sites including New York Daily News, MSNBC, and NBC New York.
