Team USA Basketball 2012 wins vs Argentina in London 2012 Prelims

The USA National basketball team routed Argentina, 126-97, on Monday, August 6, 2012 at the Basketball Arena, Olympic Park, according to London 2012 coverages.

After having another slow start, Team USA pulled away in the third quarter to earn the victory over the Argentinians. The Americans almost ended the first quarter trailing by one. However, a three-pointer by Kevin Durant as time expired gave them a two-point lead. The first half ended with Team USA ahead by only a point.

At the start of the third quarter, LeBron James scored nine straight points and Team USA gradually separate themselves from Argentina. By the end of the quarter, Team USA was comfortably ahead by 26 points.

Durant led Team USA with 28 points on eight three-pointers, followed by James with 18.

The Americans has won five straight games and swept Group A at the 2012 London Olympics basketball preliminary round.

Manu Ginobili top scored for Argentina with 16 points. Carlos Delfino and Juan Gutierrez contributed 13 and 12 points respectively.
