Team USA Basketball 2012 wins vs Lithuania at the London Olympics Prelims

Team USA won their fourth straight basketball game against Lithuania, 99-94, on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at the Basketball Arena, Olympic Park, according to several London 2012 coverages.

The Americans, composed of NBA players, survived a poor shooting game on Day 8 of the 2012 London Olympics.

Several turnovers by the Lithuanians in the end game helped Team USA win the game. LeBron James scored five straight points off two Lithuanian turnovers and a three point shot by Deron Williams gave the Americans breathing room with just 2:10 remaining in the game.

Lithuania committed 23 turnovers against Team USA‘s nine. The Americans however, were out-rebounded by Lithuania, 42-37.

James and Carmelo Anthony led Team USA with 20 points each. Kevin Durant added 16 points for the Americans.

Linas Kleiza anchored Lithuania‘s offense with 25 points. Martynas Pocius contributed 14 points for Lithuania.

The USA men’s national basketball team earlier won against France, Tunisia and Nigeria.

Team USA is scheduled to play against Argentina on Monday, August 6.
