According to a report at ABS-CBN News on Tuesday night, a noted PR executive clarified that Hollywood actor Taylor Lautner will not be endorsing Bench, a popular clothing line.

On the morning of that day, June 14, 2011, some reports said “Twilight” star Taylor Lautner will be the next Bench endorser, in which Ricky Lo first posted on his Funfare column at The Philippine Star.

Apparently, Lo‘s report entitled “Taylor Lautner tapped as new Bench endorser” wrote, “This was the latest good news relayed to Funfare yesterday afternoon by my sosyalista DPA“.

Lo even noted that it is not known as to what kind of Bench garments Taylor Lautner will be endorsing, but suggested that the 19-year old American actor will be a “perfect Bench model”.

However, ABS-CBN reported that Joyce Ramirez of PR Asia Worldwide confirmed to them that Taylor Lautner will not be the next Bench endorser.

“It doesn’t exist. There’s no authorization from the U.S. agency. It’s illegal to use the name of an international artist without endorsement contracts,” Ramirez was quoted as saying in the report.

Nevertheless, Ricky Lo said on a latter report that his “Taylor Lautner as new Bench endorser” item didn’t come from Bench but rather from a deeply-embedded source of Funfare.

In addition, Lo said that his story did not mention any negotiation made between Bench and Lautner.
