Takashi Murakami: Japanese Artist Creates Two Superflat Google Doodles to Welcome Summer Solstice and Winter Solstice

Takashi Murakami, the renowned superflat artist from Japan, has created two superflat doodles for Google to welcome the Summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the Winter solstice in the Southern Hemisphere. This was disclosed by Google and international web sites, June 21, 2011.

The two Google Doodles are from a Japanese art called “superflat,” which Takashi Murakami had made popular. It depicted art which is not as “rigid” as the Japanese system. Murakami has also designed the latest album cover of Kanye West.

According to Google, these “two super fun” superflat doodles are featured June 21, 2011 on Google’s search engine page.
