As reported earlier, Taco Bell has been sued allegedly because of false advertisement on their Taco Bell meat mixture. In response to the said allegation, Taco Bell may pursue legal action against the attorneys who filed a lawsuit claiming that Taco Bell meat mixture contains binders and fillers.

According to Taco Bell president Gred Creed, the company uses 100 percent USDA inspected beef and that the lawyers who filed the lawsuit got their facts wrong.

“We start with 100 percent USDA-inspected beef,” Creed said. “Then we simmer it in our proprietary blend of seasonings and spices to give our seasoned beef its signature Taco Bell taste and texture. We are proud of the quality of our beef and identify all the seasoning and spice ingredients on our website.

“Unfortunately, the lawyers in this case elected to sue first and ask questions later — and got their `facts’ absolutely wrong. We plan to take legal action for the false statements being made about our food.”

Reports said that Taco Bell allegedly fall short of the USDA’s requirement that its filling be at least 40 percent fresh meat. The USDA defines ground beef as “chopped fresh and/or frozen beef with or without seasoning and without the addition of beef fat as such, shall not contain more than 30 percent fat, and shall not contain added water, phosphates, binders, or extenders.” In this connection, the law firm asked the court to order Taco Bell to be honest in its advertising.

Meanwhile, Dee Miles, one of the lawyers who filed the lawsuit against Taco Bell said that he is not concerned with Taco Bell‘s threat of legal action.

“We stand on the absolute facts as stated in the complaint filed in the Federal Court in California,” Miles was quoted saying.
