While there were reported news that T-Mobile G2 started to be on sale on October 2 in some places at the West Coast, it ‘officially’ starts on October 3.

According to Engadget, they received confirmed reports that some stores in California, Oregon and Washington have started selling the T-Moblie G2 HSPA+ handset starting October 2.

Actually, the T-Mobile G2 website said this refigured HTC Desired Z smartphone will be officially on sale on stores on October 6, while some customers had been making pre-orders earlier.

However, RadioShack announced earlier through a flyer obtained by Engadget that T-Moblie G2 will be on sale on October 3, which is three days earlier than the official launch date.

T-Mobile G2, the successor of the first ever Android powered phone G1, has a 3.7-inch, 480 x 800-pixel display and a physical QWERTY keyboard that flips out on what HTC calls “a Z-Hinge.”

According to its specifications, T-Mobile G2 is also capable of recording HD (720p) videos, a talk time up to 6.5 hours, a 3.5-mm stereo headset, and weighs about 6.5 ounces.

Powered by Android 2.2 OS, it has an 800MHz Snapdragon (SD) processor and a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus.

Although this do not need to be mentioned, it has been pre-loaded with popular Google Apps which can readily be accessed on its touchscreen.

For pre-order customers, T-Mobile G2 costs $250 before a $50 mail-in rebate with the standard two-year contract.

It was also reported to be available at Best Buy stores on October 6 for $199 after a $50 instant rebate and a two-year contract.

But as mentioned earlier, RadioShack flyers revealed that T-Mobile G2 will start to be on sale on October 3.

It will be sold for only $149.99 on a two-year postpaid contract with $30 data feature, RadioShack said.
