Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle set a record for herself, when her latest album, “The Gift“,  hit number one both in the United States and UK for the second time this year, according to international news sites. Topping the US and UK charts made Boyle the first woman to achieve the feat, according to Columbia Records.  The Monkees (1967)and Beatles (1969) were the only other singers who achieved the same milestone. “The Gift” album hit No. 1 in the UK Charts last Sunday and it topped the US charts on Wednesday. During the first week of release, “The Album” has sold around 318,000 copies in the US.

Boyle hit the international scene during her “Britain’s Got Talent” audition when she got over 120 million views on YouTube. Her first album entitled, “I Dreamed A Dream,” was released in 2009 and has sold over 10 million copies worldwide. During the first week of release, “I Dreamed a Dream“, sold 701,000 copies in its first week. The album stayed on top of the Billboard chart for six weeks.
