Steve Jobs biography movie coming via Sony Pictures, reports say

A Steve Jobs biography movie may be coming soon and is reportedly under way, with Sony Pictures now being eyed to make a deal to acquire rights to feature the life of the late Apple co-founder.

As noted at on Friday, October 7, 2011, the Steve Jobs movie could be based on his biography book written by Walter Isaacson, to be released this coming October 24.

Apparently, this Steve Jobs book by Isaacson, a former CNN chairman and Time Magazine managing editor, with publisher Simon & Schuster moving the release date from November 11 at

“I’m hearing the deal is $1 million against $3 million and that Mark Gordon will be the biopic’s producer.” A statement on the post reads, with Sony Pictures releasing earlier “The Social Network“, a biopic of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

“But this will be an MG360 project, which is the movie production partnership between Gordon and is Management 360.” The report added, noting that the movie company has not yet commented on this issue.

Back in 1999, a telefilm titled “Pirates of Silicon Valley” was released at TNT and dramatized the relationship between Steve Jobs and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates.

That time, Anthony Michael Hall played Bill Gates; Joey Slotnick played Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, John Di Maggio as Steve Ballmer, while Steve Jobs was played by Noah Wylie.

“Portraying him in Pirates of Silicon Valley was as challenging and as fulfilling of a role as I will have in my career.” Noah Wylie was quoted on reports, after learning the loss of Steve Jobs.

“We have lost a visionary whose innovations will continue to impact our society forever.” Wylie added, with TNT re-airing Pirates of Silicon Valley on Thursday, a day after Steve Jobs passed away.
