According to Starbucks, customers can now pay their drinks via the Starbucks Card Mobile app, which is now available at iTunes for free download, via BlackBerry smartphones, Apple iPhone or iPod touch mobile devices.

For BlackBerry smartphones, users can text GO to 70845 to download this Starbucks Card Mobile, which then allows them to pay purchase at over 7,500 Starbucks in the US, including those in Target stores.

Each Starbucks Card Mobile has a unique card number that users should enter, and then a bar code will be displayed on the smartphone which will be used to make purchases.

In addition, users can also check their balance and earn Star points that will lead to free drinks later via the My Starbucks Reward, where 1 Star is being added in every payment made with the card.

“A growing segment of our customers use smartphones, and through the Starbucks Card Mobile App, we’re providing them with the fastest way to pay.” Starbucks Card and Brand Loyalty vice president Brady Brewer was quoted in saying.

Meanwhile, news reports say that Starbucks Smartphone Payment App has already been tested in Seattle and in Northern California.

This latest feature from Starbucks comes along with its 40th anniversary celebration this year, in which a new logo was also revealed earlier.
