As noted at US news sites on Saturday afternoon, the St Louis tent was set up next to Kilroy’s Sports Bar, at 720 South Seventh Street, wherein fans of St. Louis Cardinals baseball gathered inside to celebrate the victory of the team against the Milwaukee Brewers.

According to reports, officials said that strong winds knocked down the tent at around 3:50 p.m. (local time) and the man who was under the tent suffered a heart attack and has died, with 16 others taken to the hospital.

Apparently, five of those were in critical condition, but it was not made clear if the man who died was struck during the incident or went into cardiac arrest because of shock, with Kilroy‘s owner Art Randall describing to media how the strong damaged the said tent.

“We had live wires lying on the ground. We have severe injuries to quite a few people. This gives us nightmares.” St. Louis Fire Chief Dennis Jenkerson was quoted at CNN, with most of the area are under tornado warning.
