According to The Sun UK on Saturday, January 28, 2012, Melanie Brown, also known as Scary Spice was interviewed recently on Australian TV and “accidentally” mentioned the plans for the Spice Girls reunion.

As noted in the report, Melanie Brown (or Melanie B) was asked about the earlier rumors that the Spice Girls reunion will be held at the 2012 Olympics opening ceremony, which she denied.

“Ooh, I think the Queen’s Jubilee concert is the event I’d be looking at more closely for that to happen.” Melanie B replied, who seemed to have slipped her tongue and quickly changed the subject.

“I am going to be in such strife for saying that. It’s all so totally bloody top-secret still.” The 36-year old British singer-composer was quoted telling to a TV crew off-the-air, but was said to have confirmed to studio workers after the show that she did not make a mistake.

Meanwhile, Mirror UK reported the next day, Sunday that Victoria Beckham, who was dubbed as Posh Spice, reportedly said “no” to the Spice Girls reunion; and was said to be very busy with other projects.

“All the girls are desperate for some Spice action except Posh who is simply too busy – she loves the girls and wants to support them and the fans but doesn’t see how she has the time when her fashion business is so successful.” A source was quoted on the report.

“She has a very small team that she is hands-on with all day, every day. Every spare minute she has is spent with her children.” The source added, with the 37-year old singer now married to British football player David Beckham and has four children.

The British pop girl group Spice Girls rose to fame in the 90s and consists of five members, which the other three were Geri “Ginger Spice” Halliwell, Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton, and Melanie “Sporty Spice” Chisholm.

Among their hits include “Wannabe”, “Mama”, and “Stop” and has reportedly sold over 75 million records worldwide as of January 2010, making them the “best-selling female group of all time”.

As of this writing, there is no formal announcement on the details of the Spice Girls 2012 reunion, with the group last performed together in a 2007-2008 reunion tour, which was estimated to have grossed $100 million.
