Simon Cowell announces ‘The X Factor’ US version audition cities, with $5 Million grand prize

British music executive and TV personality Simon Cowell announced on Monday the audition cities for talent search TV show The X Factor US version, as shown in the video below.

The lucky ‘The X Factor’ grand prize winner will take home a whooping $5 million Sony recording contract, which will be aired at Fox starting this Fall.

According to Fox, ‘American Idol‘ judge Simon Cowell, who is also the producer of X Factor in UK, will be one of the judges for the upcoming US version of The X Factor, while the names of other judges was not yet revealed.

Unlike American Idol, The X Factor contestants can be as young as 12 years old and with no maximum age limit; and singing groups can also join as well.

Meanwhile, audition for this reality singing competition will be on March 27, 2011, which will be held at the LA Sports Arena in Los Angeles.

Other US states that may also feature auditions for the The X Factor are Chicago, Dallas, Miami, New York, New Jersey, and Seattle but dates and venues are to be announced later.
