Sigourney Weaver wore dress backwards on 2013 SAG Awards Red Carpet, a fashion epic fail? (Photo)By Angel Cuala on Feb 1, 2013 in Entertainment, Fashion, Hollywood, Lifestyle, United States, Weird •
Sigourney Weaver wore her dress backwards during the 2013 SAG Awards Red Carpet on Sunday, January 27, 2013 in Los Angeles, California, as shown in the photo below. And while there were other celebrities included in the Worst-Dressed list, Weaver‘s dress is being dubbed as a complete fashion epic fail.

According to TheGloss.com on Monday, Weaver, 63, who then wore a floor-length black dress during the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, was joined by Rose Byrne, Lea Michele, Jessica Pare, January Jones, Julianne Moore, Julianna Margulies, among others in their list of Worst-Dressed celebrities that night.
However, it was Sigourney Weaver‘s dress that seemed to have captured the attention of many fashion critics, which was described in the report as “looked like a beautifully cut trashbag.” If one would look at the back of her dress, it has a plunging V-neckline that would be better if it was in front.
Apparently, some fashion bloggers suggested that Alber Elbaz, the label’s designer, customized the dress exclusively for the “Alien” actress for that event. But instead of being appreciated, Weaver‘s attire was included in the likes of Celine Dion, Amanda Seyfried, and Angelina Jolie, who all wore their backwards in earlier events.
“The front of the dress [when worn correctly, we mean] features a deep cross-over v-neck, with a faux waist-belt detail and an asymmetrical hem, and the back is a plain high neckline with no detailing.” Styleite.com wrote, describing Weaver‘s dress that appeared to be an out-of-this world fashion statement.
“Maybe she (Weaver) thought the plunge was too deep so she opted for a sexy back instead. Either way between the flat back of the gown pressing against her chest and the fact that she didn’t wear a bra, she’s giving a whole new meaning to the words SAG Awards.” A statement reads at RedCarpet-FashionAwards.com.
Interestingly, a similar Lanvin dress was found listed at FarFetch.com for nearly $3,000, and at BrownsFashion.com which costs £2,295 (or around $3,600), as well as at Net-A-Porter.com where it costs £2,205.70 (or around $3,500). Nevertheless, all of them are stunning especially if they will not be worn backwards.
