‘She Smells So Nice’, The Doors’ First Song Released After 40 Years

She Smells So Nice“, a new song from the Doors, was reportedly released on Monday, January 9, 2012. The release of “She Smells So Nice“, which features vocals by the late Jim Morrison, will be followed by several other releases from the Doors’ remastered albums, according to reports by several international news sites on Tuesday, January 10, 2012.

Reports say that the previously unreleased song was discovered among the tapes of the ‘L.A. Woman‘ album by Bruce Botnick. He found the song while he was reviewing the tapes in preparation for an upcoming re-issue. Botnick is a co-producer of the ‘L.A. Woman’ album.

The release of “She Smells So Nice“, marks the 40th year of the 1971 ‘L.A. Woman‘ album. At this early part of the year, reports say that 2012 was already proclaimed as “The Year of the Doors.”

She Smells So Nice” was described by reports as a song with roots in rhythm and blues. Another song from the Doors is scheduled for release on January 20. A reissue of the album ‘L.A. Woman‘, will be out on January 24. Reports say that the reissue will include about eight new versions of the album songs.
