Zenato was able to put one of the world’s deadliest animals into a trance through its ampullae of Lorenzini, the pores around the shark’s nose and mouth. These pores serves as an electroreceptors so that sharks can detect the location of its prey. Sharks reportedly experiences natural paralysis for about 15 minutes when its ampullae of Lorenzini is rubbed.

The technique used by Zenato is being used to administer injured sharks, remove parasites and teach other divers.
