Shaq lip-syncs Beyoncé, as shown in the video below, while she was singing “Halo” during the 2013 Super Bowl halftime, this Sunday, February 3, 2013. Yes, basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal offered his 6.6 million Twitter followers a moment of delight while watching Beyoncé singing one of her hit songs that night.

“I can feel your halo Beyonce was fabulous” Shaq (@SHAQ) tweeted on Sunday night, along with a link to the video he recorded and uploaded on his official Tout.com account. Amusingly, he was doing a lip-sync on Beyonce‘s “Halo” while the 31-year old singer is singing it live on stage at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
It was not clear why Shaq lip-synched Beyonce. However, some may call it a “remembrance” on the recent controversy when the “Run The World” singer allegedly lip-synced the US National Anthem during the Obama inauguration, which she admitted in front of the crowd during the Super Bowl press conference.
That time, Beyoncé performed live and sang cappella her version of the “The Star-Spangled Banner” in front of the press at the Ernest N Morial Convention Center, Shortly after, she explained why she lip-synched, saying that she “did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra” and was “not comfortable taking a risk.”
Nevertheless, Beyonce has many times proven to her fans that she can perform live. This includes her electrifying performance during the Super Bowl halftime, where she was also joined by her former Destiny’s Child co-members. Beyoncé will also be doing series of concerts via her 2013 Mrs. Carter Show World Tour.
But back to Shaq, one might wonder why the 40-year old retired NBA star chose “Halo” to lip-synch instead of the other songs that Beyonce sang that night. Well, it was the last song she performed; and Shaq probably wanted to focus on watching her performing on stage.
