Scotty McCreery is tasked to sing the US national anthem in the opening of the World Series 2011, on October 19, Wednesday, 7:30 pm ET, as disclosed by various entertainment sites.

He said; however, in the same interview, that he would rather sing than play pro-baseball because he is not of World Series caliber.

Since winning the American Idol 2011, apparently, Scotty McCreery’s success continued as he made history with his first album, “Clear as Day,” debuting at No.1 on Billboard 200.

The album also reached No. 1 in other music Billboard charts, such as Internet Albums, Top Current Albums and Top Country Albums.

Reportedly, it is the first time that a country song from an American Idol champion debuted at No. 1, and this has made him an accomplished singer, but singing the national anthem is different McCreery added.
