The price of the original 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab is now less than $50 at Verizon. The broadband carrier is reportedly offering the Samsung Galaxy tablet for only $49.99 with a new, two-year mobile broadband plan, according to the carrier’s ads on its official website at Verizon wireless.

Reports say that the full retail price of the original 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab is $499.99. Verizon reportedly sells the tablet for $229.99 when bundled with a two-year contract.

The US wireless broadband carrier is giving away the $180 markdown reportedly because of the launch of new 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 on Sunday, April 22.

The original 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab runs on Android 2.2 (upgradable). It has a 1.3MP front-facing camera, a 3.0MP rear-facing camera, HTML Web Browser, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth stereo support and comes with a pre-installed 16 GB microSD card.
