The Ryder Cup 2012 provided an exciting twist and unbelievable outcome as team Europe beat the United States, 14.5-13.5, at the Medinah Country Club, Chicago on Sunday, September 30, 2012.

A bogey by Tiger Woods on the final green against Italian Francesco Molinari handed the 2012 Ryder Cup to the Europeans.

At the start of the final-day, US was leading Europe with four points. However, the Europeans scored eight and a half points to snatch a win over the Americans.

Reports say that the Europe comeback victory “matches the record recovery of Ben Crenshaw‘s US team in Boston in 1999 and is the best from a European side in the Ryder Cup.”

The European Ryder Cup team dedicated the win to the late Spaniard Seve Ballesteros. European team captain José María Olazábal said that “Seve will always be present with this team.” Olazábal added that Ballesteros “was a big factor for this event, for the European side. Last night, when we were having a meeting, I think the boys understood that believing was the most important thing. And I think they did.”
