Russian airplane crashes, all 6 passengers killed on trial flight

A Russian airplane crashed and all the six passengers were reported killed on Saturday, March 5, 2011, according to Russian news sites.

As reported at Ria Novosti, an Antonov An-148 airplane crashed during a trial flight on Saturday, at 10:40 a.m. (Russian time), and all six passengers did not survive.

Apparently, among the casualties were the two test pilots and at least two others were from Myanmar (Burma), but did not involve anyone on the ground when it crashed in the Belgorod region.

The wrecked An-148 airplane was said to have belonged to Voronezh Aircraft Plant, and being tested before its delivery to Burma, which was the government ordered 2 units last year.

As of this writing, Russian Investigative Committee representative Vladimir Markin told reports that the incident is under through investigation.
