Ronnie Brown Signed One Year Deal With Philadelphia Eagles

Ronnie Brown has signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, several sports news sites reported on Tuesday, August 2, 2011.

According to reports, Ronnie Brown is the seventh major acquisition the Philadelphia Eagles has made in the past week. The other six were cornerbacks Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Nnamdi Asomugha, defensive linemen Jason Babin and Cullen Jenkins, quarterback Vince Young, and offensive lineman Evan Mathis.

Brown spent his first six seasons with the Miami Dolphins, in which he rushed for 4,815 yards and 36 touchdowns and caught 184 passes for 1,491 yards. Reports said that he rushed for 1,008 yards in 13 games last 2006.

During the 2005 draft, Brown was the second pick behind 49ers quarterback Alex Smith.

Meanwhile, ProFootballTalk tweeted that “Eagles get Ronnie Brown for only $1 milion with a small package of incentive, per league source.”
