American Ron Galella, is considered as the world’s first paparazzi photographer and journalist, according to a BBC report. Galella‘s photojournalism career spread for more than 40 years. He was able to personally photographed and collected over three million photos that are mostly celebrities. Galella‘s massive collection is also considered as an exceptional achievement.

Galella was able to take exclusive photos of famous celebrities such as Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton on Burton‘s personal yacht, and Jackie Kennedy among others.

His unique but exciting and sometimes unfortunate experience includes having to stay in a warehouse for days, getting sued by Jackie Kennedy and getting a punch from Marlon Brando.

Galella was dubbed as the “Paparazzo Extraordinaire” by Newsweek and considered as the “Godfather of the U.S. paparazzi culture” by Time and Vanity Fair. He will be featured on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at BBC One.
