As published on its official website, its first one-off, electric powered Phantom will be launched in Switzerland on the first day of March this year, and will tour the whole year in different parts in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America.

Apparently, this 102EX electric car, which is also known as the Phantom Experimental Electric (EE), will be tested and owners will be given the chance to share their reactions and opinions.

“We have engineered the world’s first battery electric vehicle for the ultra-luxury segment,” Rolls-Royce Motor Cars CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös said on the report, as he speaks from Goodwood, the company’s headquarters.

“With this vehicle, we begin an exploration into alternative drive-trains, seeking clarity on which alternative technologies may be suitable to drive Rolls-Royce motor cars of the future.” He added.

Rolls-Royce said that the test drives will allow their customers to experience an alternative drive-train technology, who will be expected to feedback their concerns directly to the company.

Meanwhile, the luxury car company said that it will launch the website ElectricLuxury.com this week, which will serve as a portal where regular updates of the 102EX world tour, as well as to provide a venue for media, VIP, and stakeholders to exchange views on electric luxury.
