Rogier Meijer, De Graafschap‘s midfielder, was captured on live TV being comforted by her little daughter, as shown in the video below, right after his soccer team was relegated on Sunday, May 13, 2012 during the second leg.

As noted by FIFA on its official website on Sunday, Dutch soccer team De Graafschap was relegated after a 1-1 draw in their playoff against FC Den Bosch that day, a notably heartbreaking result for the entire team, which finished the regular season second from bottom.

Meanwhile, De Graafschap‘s team members were seen in sadness right after the game, including Rogier Meijer, who was caught on live TV sitting hopelessly on the pitch after the game, with his young daughter named Saar dressed in her father’s jersey, came to him.

Meijer, 30, who was with his head down when her approached him, was seen shaking his head, as his daughter put her hand on his shoulder; and observers noted that the little girl seemed to have ask his dad if they won and somehow tried to comfort him.

However, Meijer did not seem to be recovering from his disappointment from and laid his back down on the pitch with his head in his hands, with his daughter not leaving him and continuously comforted him in her own little way.
