Alice Cooper and Bon Jovi are included in the list of nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2011, RockHall reports.

Both of them are first-time nominees, while there are also old-timers like LL Cool J and Beastie Boys.

However, fans of KISS and Rush may somehow be upset since the two were not included.

To be qualified for nomination, an act must have released its first single or album at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination; which is not later than 1985 for the present nominees.

To complete the list of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2011 nominees, included are; Neil Diamond, Alice Cooper, Bon Jovi, LL Cool J, Beastie Boys, Chic, Donovan, Dr. John, Tom Waits, Donna Summer, Laura Nyro, J. Geils Band, Darlene Love, Joe Tex, and Chuck Willis.

“We believe our nominating committee has put forth a list of artists that truly represent the wide variety of music that defines rock and roll,” President and CEO of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation Joel Peresman said.

The nonprofit organization, which aim is to educate people about the impact of rock and roll, will send out ballots to more than 500 voters.

Winners will be announced in December and to be inducted into the Hall of Fame in March 2011.
