The top 15 richest counties in America was chosen by Main Street website based on the 2010 Census Bureau data. Main Street published its list of 15 wealthiest counties in America on Thursday, March 8, 2012.(Complete list of Richest Counties in America)

The published article indicated that three out of the top 15 richest counties in the US has a median household of over $100,000. These counties have shown economic durability since the US median household income has declined from 2009 to 2010 by 2.3%. The US national average median income now stands at $49,445.

Loudoun County, topping the list of wealthiest counties in the US, has a Median Household Income of $119,540. The poverty rate in these county is notably at a low of 3.2%.
