Reports say that Byrdie, a 30-pound Rhodesian Ridgeback, escaped from her crate and run wild around the airport runway.

The 14-month-old puppy reportedly roamed around the runway for about 10 minutes as airport authorities were unable to collar her.

Authorities requested Byrdie‘s owner on board a Memphis-bound Delta Air Lines Airbus to help them catch the puppy. When called, Byrdie came running towards her owner.

A Port Authority spokesman explained that, “Byrdie got out of her cage and decided that Runway 31 would be the best place to get some exercise.”
