The issue about the safety of using the reusable shopping bags was brought up when Tampa Tribune made a test and discovered a lead content on reusable grocery bags according to international news websites.

Just recently, Sen.Charles Schumer is asking for a federal investigation into the reusable bags that was reported to have high levels of lead.

Sen.Charles Schumer said in a statement, “Federal agencies need to put a ban in place for reusable bags that have lead in them.”
