Republican Michele Bachmann is now creating a buzz with her HPV story.

Concerned experts; however, are asking proof of her claim that a mother complained to her about how her daughter suffered mental retardation because of HPV. This was reported in various US sites, September 14, 2011.

Reportedly, there is now an offer of $10,000, if the claim of Rep. Bachmann is proven true.

Meanwhile, Iowa news reports that the American Academy of Pediatrics stated that “there is no scientific basis” of Bachmann’s statements.

Apparently, Bachmann, has mentioned about the HPV vaccine when she was criticizing Gov. Rick Perry.

She said in defense of herself,

“All I was doing was reporting what this woman told me last night at the debate.”

Allegedly, Bachmann also said in a counter-statement that she did not know if the woman’s story is true.

Additional reports revealed that several experts also reacted to Michele Bachmann’s claim, stating that there was no scientific basis to her pronouncement about HPV’s serious side effects.
