Reebok will be crafting custom-build shoes for Igor Vovkovinskiy– the tallest man in the United States, in order to help him live a normal life, according to reports by several international news sites, May 5, 2012.

Based on reports, Igor Vovkovinskiy stands 7’8 and his shoe size is somewhere between 22 and 26, giving him a shoe-shopping problem.

“Up until six years ago, I used to consider my life pretty normal. Right now, doing the simplest thing, like walking a few steps down the hallway, is … excruciating. Living these last six years has been a nightmare. I’ve basically been a prisoner of my home”, Vovkovinskiy, who has a condition called ‘pituitary gigantism’ mentioned in a statement.

His problem forced him to launch an online campaign to raise $16,000 to pay for a custom-fit new pair of shoes.

However, Reebok heard about his plight and reached out to Vovkovinskiy.

Last Thursday, Vovkovinskiy flew to Massachusetts and the athletic firm started the process of custom – crafting what the shoe wizards say will have to be size 26 kicks.

Reebok will shoulder the entire bill, estimated at $12,000 to $20,000, according to reports.
