Queen Rania Al Abdullah and the Yasin Family Cleared by Royal Hashemite Court of Jordan

The Royal Hashemite Court of Jordan has cleared Queen Rania Al Abdullah and the Yasin family of any wrongdoing on Friday, February 11, 2011, according to a report published by the Middle East Online. The Royal Court described the tribal accusations of corruption against Queen Rania as baseless allegations, rumours or hearsay.

AFP reported on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, that tribes in Jordan has publicly accused Queen Rania, the wife of Jordan’s King Abdullah II, of stealing money and getting involved in politics.

Public criticism of the Royal Family in Jordan is punishable with three-year imprisonment.
