Queen Elizabeth joins Facebook, as the Royal family launches its British Monarchy page, as reported at BBC News on Sunday.

According to the report, Buckingham Palace says all Facebook users can now visit the page to view photos of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry.

This will include speaking engagements and activities of the entire Royal family.

The British Monarchy page was said to be not a personal profile page, but visitors can ‘like’ the service, which includes the Court Circular, where previous official engagements of the family will be recorded.

The British Queen, who now has embraced the Internet, was said to have been sending e-mails to her grandchildren.

The British Monarchy page was only among the social sites the Royal family has joined, as it was also reported to have a Flickr account earlier this year.

In 2007, a Royal Channel on YouTube was launched, while the Royal family was said to have acquired its Twitter account last year.
