Producers Guild of America Awards 2011 winners announced, ‘The King’s Speech’ named best film

The winners for the 22nd Annual Producers Guild Awards (PGA) have been announced, which was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Saturday night, January 22, 2011, and was hosted by Judd Apatow.

The King’s Speech,” a drama film about British King George VI, who tried to overcome a stumble to rule the country, won as best picture in the Producers Guild Awards 2011 (PGA 2011), and beat the 68th Golden Globe winner “The Social Network“.

The winning movie also featured Colin Firth, who bagged the best actor award in the recent Golden Globes for his role as King George VI.

Meanwhile, PGA 2011 also gave special awards including the Milestone Award to James Cameron; Norman Lear Achievement Award in Television to Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman; David O. Selznick Achievement Award in Theatrical Motion Pictures to Scott Rudin; Visionary Award to Laura Ziskin; and the Vanguard Award to RealD.
