Presidential Polls: Oct 17-18 2012 Gallup Poll Shows Obama Won Second Debate

Presidential polls result, conducted by Gallup from October 17 to 18, 2012, showed that US President Barack Obama fared better than Republican candidate Mitt Romney during the second presidential debate held in Hempstead, New York last Tuesday, October 16, 2012.

The second presidential debate is reportedly the last major event before the 2012 US Presidential Elections in November.

Based on the presidential poll result, 51 percent of the Americans who watched the second debate favored Obama while only 38 percent went to Romney‘s side.

The recent Gallup poll result is a contrast to the outcome of the first presidential debate where Romney was the perceived winner over Obama.

The Gallup poll also revealed that about 76 percent of the respondents were able to watched the second debate compared to the 66 percent who viewed the first presidential debate last October 3.

Americans also viewed the Democratic party of US President Obama as the clear winner over the Independents and Republicans after the second presidential debate. Below is the result of the Gallup poll by political party.
