“I can report to the American people and to the world that the United States has conducted an operation that has killed Osama bin Laden,” President Obama said on his speech, which was shown live in CNN.

“On nights like this, we can say to families who have lost loved ones to the terror of Al-Qaeda, justice has been done.” Mr. Obama added, noting Bin Laden was killed in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

“No Americans were harmed, they took care to avoid civilian casualties,” the president noted, as he also thanked all those who pushed efforts for the accomplished mission.

However, Mr. Obama reminded the people that the act was not against the Muslims but rather against terrorists. Later, some Americans began celebrating and different reactions surfaced online.

Apparently, Osama bin Laden was said to be responsible for the 9/11 terror attack in the US as former President George W. Bush announced in 2004 that the al-Qaeda founder should be taken dead or alive.
