President Obama and Prime Minister Singh meet to discuss Trade

In Mumbai, US President Obama met with Prime Minister Singh to discuss trade policy, today, November 7, 2010, as reported by the Press Trust of India. The US president stated that India has already risen as an economic power. He proposed to double US exports from the USD 36.6 billion Indo US Bilateral Trade.

According to Press Trust, President Obama also believes that a trade relationship with Asia would help the US, because according to the president, “I believe that the US will grow and prosper if we are trading with Asia, the fastest growing region of the world…”

The meeting of these two world leaders, President Obama and Prime Minister Singh to discuss open trade will hopefully reduce unemployment in both countries.
