As announced on the White House official website on Monday, April 18, 2011, the Obamas had an adjusted gross income of $1,728,096 as noted in the joint income tax return of the First Couple for 2010.

According to the report, President Obama and First Lady Michelle donated 14.2% of their adjusted gross income to 36 different charities, amounting to $245,075.

Apparently, the largest contribution of the Obamas was $131,075, which went to Fisher House Foundation, an institution that provides a ‘home away from home’ for the US military families.

Nevertheless, the Obamas’ adjusted gross income for 2010 declined to nearly 69 percent as compared to $5.5 million in 2009 and it was also the couple’s lowest-income year since 2006.

Meanwhile, US Vice President Joe Biden and wife Dr. Jill Biden reportedly made a total gross income of $379,178 in 2010 and paid $86,626 in total federal taxes for that year.

The couple filed their income tax returns for both in Virginia and Delaware, as Dr. Biden filed a separate non-resident tax return for Virginia.

Consequently, they paid $3,515 and $14,479 in their income tax for Virginia and Delaware, respectively, and gave $5,350 to charity.
