Police Report : Wrestler known as Randy ‘Macho Man’ Savage Died in Car Crash

Randy “Macho Man” Savage, the famous WWF and WCW wrestler known for his antics in the ring, his flashy bandanna and his “Oooooh yeahhhhh” catch phrase, was reported dead due to heart attack that led to a car accident. He was using his 2009 Jeep Wrangler in Tampa when the accident happened.

According to TMZ, the incident happened on Friday, May 20, 2011 at around 9:25 a.m. (local time) and Randy was with his wife, Lynn, who escaped with minor injuries. Both passengers were wearing seat belts and the police do not believe alcohol was a factor.

Randy was married to Elizabeth Ann Hulette, aka Miss Elizabeth, for many years. Hulette, also his former manager, divorced their marriage during the ‘90s, and she died in 2003. Savage married his longtime girlfriend, Lynn Payne, last year; they had recently celebrated their one-year anniversary.

WWE was saddened to learn of the passing of one of the greatest Superstars of his time, Randy Poffo, aka Randy “Macho Man” Savage. One of Macho Man’s biggest rivals was Hulk Hogan. Hogan said he and Savage had just started talking again after 10 years. Savage also appeared in memorable ads for Slim Jim and played a wrestler in the 2002 hit film “Spider-Man.
