PAMPANGA, Philippines – The Police Regional Training School’s Recognition Day for Maglingap Class 2010-03 was held at the Regional Training School (RTS) in Magalang, Pampanga on April 19, 2011.

After the intensive screening of a thousand applicants from Camp Olivas, and the 4 months of rigorous training at the RTS, only 659 strong police trainees had been recognized for the Integrated Transformation Program (ITP) training, so far. The ITP includes all facets of the human person; the mental, physical and moral aspects, which would train them to be good police personnel in the future, sans the hazing.  RTS offers classes on Criminal Procedure, Code of Ethics, Special Laws, Filipino Values, Community Police Relation, Public Speaking and Psychology.

Aside from values formation classes, a priest and a pastor also visit every week for the spiritual enhancement program of the trainees.

Although rigorous physical training is required from trainees, the Integrated Transformation Program of the PNP had always condemned the use of “hazing”.

The Maglingap Class 2010-03 marched proudly at the grounds as hundreds of loved ones watched. They presented their “We Love PNP” formation. After the “rolling of sleeves” and “open collar” recognition rites, the trainees danced to the tunes of “Time of My Life,” “Baby, “and “Waka, Waka” to the delight of the guests. Three small tora tora planes circled the area and released confetti after the presentation.

The Recognition Day’s Guest Speaker was Atty. Ruben R. Platon, Executive Director of the Philippine Public Safety College in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City and the Regional Training Director is PSUPT Noel Realeza Flores.
