As reported at GMA News, President Aquino or PNoy woke up early that day along with some of his cabinet members particularly DOH Secretary Enrique Ona, who went biking along with the president.

Apparently, PNoy and his group including Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista went biking around the Quezon City Memorial Circle on Sunday morning.

Kris Aquino, PNoy’s youngest sister, supported the DOH program together with her son Joshua and other fellow artists, which was dubbed as “Ehersisyong pangkalusugan para sa lahat” (Healthy Exercise for All).

On his speech that day, President Noynoy Aquino noted that being healthy is very important as it can help people to avoid Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) such as cardiovascular diseases, hypertension and diabetes.

PNoy added that his leadership prioritizes health programs and mentioned that around 40 percent of Filipinos have never been check-up by a doctor, as he announced that a “universal healthcare” is being planned, where the poor can receive a complete medical check-up for only 100 pesos a month.

Nevertheless, the president said he wish that there are still a lot of nurses left in the country to support the doctors in the Philippines.

The full transcript of PNoy’s speech is posted at the Official Gazette of the Republic of the Philippines (published in Filipino), while below is the news video from GMA 7 News “Balitanghali” and is also in Filipino language.
