Philippines, ManilaPresident Noynoy Aquino III (PNoy) junked the controversial campaign slogan of the Department of Tourism (DOT), ‘Pilipinas Kay Ganda’ (Philippines, so Beautiful), as told in local news on Saturday.

“I met with the stakeholders and they seemed not contented about it. So I believe it would be appropriate that it would be fine-tuned and maybe look for a more apt slogan.” PNoy said on a brief press meeting.

“I asked Secretary Lim (of the DOT) to present the whole blueprint of our tourism slogan. I want all its details to be reviewed,” the bachelor President added.

Earlier, the DOT’s new slogan “Pilipinas Kay Ganda” was in the hot seat after negative comments poured in, including the logo which was said as allegedly copied from the logo of Poland’s official travel website.

Meanwhile, Pinoy boxing champion, Manny Pacquiao, who recently won over Antonio Margarito by unanimous decision after 12 rounds of the bloody fight, showed willingness to be the new DOT model.

The announcement apparently came after the eight-time world boxing champion made a courtesy call to PNoy in Malacanang on the same day.

Pacquiao, who also happens to be the Congressman of Sarrangani said he is very much willing to help the government on its tourism campaign.
