PNOYPresident Benigno Aquino III (PNOY) is firm on his decision not to declare November 2 a holiday. Do not expect it to be declared on the last minute as PNOY‘s concern is on the daily-wage workers who will lose their wages for another day if Tuesday becomes a holiday.

In a report by GMANews.tv, PNOY said that there have been complaints from daily-wage earners that if there are so many holidays, they lose their wages for each holiday.

In addition, PNOY cited claims from business groups that they prefer non-working days on the last day of the week instead of at the starting days. According to them, productivity of workers for the entire week is affected if workers came from a holiday at the start of the week. They prefer having holidays on Fridays.
