As noted at international news sites on Tuesday, the Sony PlayStation Vita will be sold in retail stores on Wednesday across US and UK, with the company hoping to create new space in the gaming market.

According to reports, the Playstation Vita will also include web access and social networks such as Facebook, Skype and Twitter and connected to Playstation Network (PSN) and will include 26 game titles.

“Today is an incredibly important day in PlayStation history and one that I am incredibly proud to be part of.” Sony Computer Entertainment Europe President Jim Ryan was quoted at Sony Playstation Europe blog.

“Following years of hard work, PlayStation Vita arrives as the most powerful and versatile hand-held gaming machine on the planet.” Ryan added, noting that the goal of Sony is to develop a console new functionality and ways of playing that were previously unimaginable.

Apparently, among the biggest titles on the list of games available at PlayStation Vita include Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Marvel vs Capcom 3, Rayman Origins, Lumines Electronic Symphony, and Touch My Katamaria.

The PlayStation Vita, which was unveiled during the E3 2011 last June as the successor of PSP, was said to be worth for $249 (Wi-Fi only) and $299 (Wi-Fi/3G) in the US, while it will cost £230 in Europe.
