Four pit bulls attack a car trying to get to a kitten hiding in the engine compartment in California, international news sites reported on Friday, August 24, 2012.

According to reports, the pit bulls were able to flatten a tire of their owner’s minivan and messed up its fender and bumper, as shown in the photo. After changing the tire on Monday, the owner of the vehicle drove 25 miles from Banning to Palm Springs before he found the 7-week-old kitten in a hollow part of the front bumper.

An animal control officer rescued the kitten who spent 40 minutes trying to remove the bumper, Desert Sun newspaper reported.

The kitten was named Fender-Lynx by the officer and is now available for adoption at the Palm Springs Animal Shelter, reports said.
