As reported at Telegraph on Saturday, a Pinoy, whose identity has not yet been released, was seen on CCTV last Friday at around 10:15 p.m. (UK time), climbing over a railing of the Celebrity Eclipse ship and jumped to the water.

The Filipino crew, known to be 31 years old, is still missing as of this writing but a Celebrity Eclipse spokeswoman told reports that the management is now providing support for his family.

The ship, which is owned by Celebrity Cruises, was said to be eight miles north of Cherbourg, France, when the man jumped.

Apparently, upon learning the incident, Celebrity Eclipse shifted back to the spot and immediately informed the French coastguard but failed to find the man after searching overnight.

”We deployed our resources to find him but it was to no avail and we can now presume that he is dead.” A French coastguard crew was quoted as saying, adding that the water is very cold that no one could have made it alive.
