Morgan, 46, who has been a judge of NBC’s ‘America’s Got Talent’ since 2006 as well as the British version along with Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden, also tweeted his decision.

“I’m leaving America’s Got Talent after 6 wonderful years. Turned out that juggling’s harder than it looks, so I’m going to focus on CNN.” Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) tweeted about two hours ago.

“Big thanks to NBC, Fremantle, and of course, my friend Simon Cowell, for giving me such a great opportunity. It’s been a blast.” Morgan tweeted later; whose ‘Piers Morgan Tonight‘ show started last January and replaced the timeslot of Larry King Live when Larry King retired.

Meanwhile, Morgan joked and offered himself as Academy Awards 2012 (Oscars) host, noting that he is now available. Eddie Murphy earlier resigned as the Academy host, which will be on February 26, 2012.

As of this writing, ‘America’s Got Talent’ Season 7 has no schedule yet but Sharon Osbourne announced last August that auditions for the next season of the show will be taking place soon.
