Philippines Bar Exam 2010, Results Released March 2011

MANILA, Philippines – The 2010 bar exam results were released by the Supreme Court Thursday, March 17, 2011, according to Sun Star, Manila.

Ateneo students took almost half of the top 10 positions with Cesario Antonio Singzon Jr. topping the bar exam with a score of 89%.

Out of the 4, 847 examinees, only 982 passed the exam or a 20.26% passing rate. The second rank went to Filemon Ray Javier also an Atenean with a score of 86.95% while Paolo Carlo C. Tolentino who got a score of 86.80% from Arellano University made it to the top 3. Other topnotchers include 4th place Ancog, Janette R. of Ateneo de Davao University (85.90%), 5th place Sunga, Johana T. of Ateneo de Manila University (85.85%), Poblacion, Krizelle Marie F. from the University of the Philippines (85.65%), 7th place Ortua, Maria Christina C. and Uy,Krystal Lyn T. of University of the Philippines (85.05%), 8th place Capones, Joanna Eileen M. from University of the Philippines (84.80%), 9th place Gan, William Benson S. of Ateneo de Manila University (84.75%) and 10th place Carampatana, Glenn C and Salipsip, Darren L. both from the University of San Carlos University (84.55%).

Other universities that made it to the top rank include the University of the Philippines (UP) and University of San Carlos.

The Supreme Court’s cut off score for the 2010 bar exam was 72.5%. The board passers are scheduled to take their oath taking on April 14, 2011 at the Philippine International Convention Center.

The bar exam is the only professional licensure examination in the country that is not under the direct supervision of the Professional Regulation Commission. The Supreme Court is the only authorized agency to conduct the examination.
